North Carolina, day 19

On Wednesday morning we took off for Top Sail beach in NC that we were recommended by a very nice guy we met in Washington DC. The beach is close to a small town called Surf City, which is a slim strip of land on the coast surrounded by water on both sides (if that didn't make sense just google top sail beach and North Carolina and you'll see what I mean). It is a very beautiful place and I wouldn't say no to owning one of the houses next to the beach.

On the way down from Virginia beach we got to see a massive fire from afar (it still looked pretty big), a fire mans funeral, inmates working on the side of the road, and signs warning us of alligators, bears, and wolfs. Let's just say we were hoping the car wouldn't break down close to most of these places.

The campground we stayed at this night was one of the prettiest so far (it was another KOA). The place was in an area called New Bern and the camp site was next to a big lake. It had a nice little pier that you could fish on and porch swings next to the dock. We even got to see the stars at night. Josh has photos of the pier that I will upload later.
