We arrived at Baltimore yesterday morning after having had an okay night's sleep. It was my turn to drive and although I was a little bit nervous in the beginning, I felt somewhat confident by the end of the day (even though we had some pretty heavy showers during most parts o the drive). All we know about Baltimore is what we've seen from the TV series The Wire, and that doesn't paint a very nice picture of the city. However, well in downtown it seemed like an okay place on earth with clean streets, some big buildings and a nice harbor area with shops and restaurants. We did realize after a couple of hours that there is not a lot to do or see here so our stay was fairly short. We bought some necessities for the van and walked around to see the sights before we headed to our next campground that was on route to Washington DC, where we were heading the next day. In the evening we ate at The Cheesecake factory and got a take away cheesecake for dessert.
The campgrounds we have been staying at so far are all called KOA campgrounds and they are fairly cheap with free wifi, amenities like restrooms, pool, shower, laundry and electricity. All of the staff we have met so far have been very nice and helpful.
