From Las Cruces we headed towards a small little hippie town called Silver City. New Mexico is a mining rich state and Silver City, despite what the name suggests, was once a known for it's copper. It did however also produce some silver, but there are still some mines in the area extracting copper which we got to see on one of our drives. Downtown Silver City is small but makes a big impression due to it's colorful painted buildings and interesting/random artwork. It felt like the city and it's people were stuck in the 60's and 70's with the hippie-ich stores and cafés. All in all, a cool small town. In the evening we had dinner in a village nearby at an old cowboy saloon that served really good food. And there was a cool guy singing and playing guitar for our entertainment.
