Palm Springs and Santa Barbara

Finally (or not) in beautiful Cali! We stayed in Palm Springs (or technically it was Palm Desert) for two nights to soak in the sun and gaze at the palm trees. I can never get enough of those trees, as you probably can tell by the pictures. Palm Springs was beautiful and we really enjoyed our little visit that contained taking pictures with Marilyn Monroe (the massive statue), drinking thirst drenching smoothies, getting some delicious cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory (really miss that place!) and lying by the hotel pool. I can understand why celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and Elvis Presley were frequent visitors of this place. In one of the pictures you can see a guy taking a picture of his dog in front of the Marilyn Monroe statue. Hilarious! We also saw a crazy guy riding his motorcycle in crocs (that is Foppatofflor for you Swedes). After seeing most of what Palm Springs had to offer we headed towards the coast and Santa Barbara. This is a place where rich people from L.A. go to retire (so I've heard) and we noticed the presence of old, but glamorous, women and men that often were in the company of small, well groomed, dogs. We also headed to Pismo Beach, a pretty beach with a mountain view, before tucking in at a KOA campsite.
