San Antonio

Our next stop in Texas was San Antonio where we stayed in a small cabin at a KOA camground for two days. The first evening we walked around downtown which is basically a river walk with lots of nice restaurants and bars. I liked San Antonio almost instantly. The riverwalk was beautiful, especially at night when the lights came on, as well as the buildings and bridges surrounding it.
The second day we first went to a street that has alot of historical buildings on it. Basically, lots of old buildings. We also went to old town which was a small and charming area where artists sold their arts and crafts. The Alamo was next on the agenda which basically is an old stone wall with a big door. It started out as a spanish mission in the 1700's and has been of great significance throught history. It served as homes and crossroads for people who lived here as well as during wars e.g. the Texas revolution. In the evening we went to a place called "Howling at the moon" which was a bar where they hade duelling pianos. The people playing were great and we really enjoyed our last night in beautiful San Antonio.
