Memphis day 4

On the fourth day I didn't feel very well (think I had a fever) but decided to still get the most out of Memphis, otherwise I think I would've regretted it. We went to the STAX museum where a lot of big names of blues and soul recorded their first big hits. The studio is not as well kept as the Sun studios since there is a completely new building on the spot where it once stood. This building is now home to the museum and museum shop as well as a prestigious music academy.

The second museum, or visit, of the day was Gibson guitar factory. No pictures were aloud in the factory so unfortunately you won't be able to see how cool it was to see the production process of a hollow bodied Gibson electric guitar from start to finish. Amazing how it can turn out as something that beautiful in the end. The company started out as a mandolin repair shop by a man called Orville Gibson in 1902, and everything is still handmade.

After the tour of the Gibson factor Josh was really hungry, since ha hadn't eaten breakfast or lunch. Deliberately. He was getting ready for a burger challenge as seen on the TV show "Man vs. Food" at a place called Kooky Canuck. The burger itself (the meat) was 4 pounds (almost 2 kg) and the whole burger was 7 pounds (just above 3 kg). He had to finish it within an hour in order to get it for for free and not have to pay 50 dollars for it. The record is 7 minutes and you can see it on YouTube if you want to feel sick. Josh managed to eat half of it so he did quite well but he felt less than great afterwards. As I felt I'll that day I only had a salad next to his massive burger.
