Last days in NYC

The last couple of days in New York was spent seeing some bits and bobs. For example Grand central station that you can see in a bunch of films, the old historic music club CBGB that have been the birthplace of many great bands like Ramones and Misfits. Unfortunately the club was closed down in 2006 and is now home to a fancy suit store. Thankfully they have preserved most of the old interior like the walls with numerous posters and graffiti as well as the stage. We walked home on the old train tracks that have been made into a walkway high above ground level called the high line. When we came back to the hotel we it some amazing take away tacos. I must say that what ever New York might be lacking it makes up with great tasting food.

On the last day we went to a restaurant called The Smith. Josh's friend from work got us a able there since his brother in law is the head chef of the place. We both had a steak and it was great and because Josh new the chef's brother in law we got lots of free food. We got a starter with deep fried green beans with an amazing garlic sauce, a dessert of three massive chocolate chip cookies straight from the oven (even though we didn't want any dessert they gave it to us in a doggy bag to take home with us!), as well as a glass of champagne each. Very good food and I recommend this place to anyone who is in New York. It is a bit pricey but so so worth it. Try the green beans and you'll see what I mean!
